Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental Assistant

We are seeking an Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental Assistant to join our team across multiple office locations throughout the country. 

 

The ideal candidate will be efficient, comfortable working collaboratively within a team environment, and committed to ensuring timely completion of tasks. A key aspect of this role is the ability to identify, coordinate, and advocate for improvements in occupational health and safety (OHS) practices within our organization.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Inspect premises and the work of maintenance personnel to identify issues or non-conformities; Monitor the use of protective equipment in the workplace according to the Maintenance Safety Manual
  • Assist in developing, maintaining, and updating HSE documents, such as the Emergency Response Plan, Procedures, Safety Manual, etc.
  • Conduct OH&S training induction for new hires
  • Inspect and evaluate the workplace environment and equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations
  • Collect and file office systems/climate and other machinery inspection protocols and submit them to the relevant parties upon demand
  • Assist in conducting Fire Drills
  • Cooperate and communicate with external H&S advisory company
  • Assist in investigating incidents and accidents to identify root causes and prevention mechanisms

Requirements

  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Very good English and Georgian language skills; German language skills will be valued
  • Possession of a government-recognized certificate as a labor safety specialist will be valued
  • A university degree is desired
  • Experience working in occupational health and safety will be valued
  • Understanding of OHS legislation, regulations, and best practices will be valued
  • Ability to analyze and revise operating practices to improve efficiency
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment
  • Superior organization skills and dedication to completing projects in a timely manner
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities
  • Flexibility to travel across Georgia
  • Demonstrates flexibility, resilience, loyalty, and discretion.
